CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The AFP Educational Benefit System Office (AFPEBSO) received a check worth PhP4.4-million from the Armed Forces and Police Mutual Benefit Association, Inc. (AFPMBAI) in a ceremonial turnover held at the AFPEBSO Board Room, on August 27, 2015.
The AFPEBSO Chief/General Manager, Lt Col Genaro C Menor PAF (GSC) together with Assistant General Manager, Lt Col Lawrence A Aninag (OS) PA received the symbolic check amounting to PhP4,498,110.94.
The AFPMBAI was represented by Col Wenceslao Romero (Ret), Head of Social Services Office together with its supervisor, Mr. Celso Robles.
The amount is part of AFPMBAI’s Experience Refund (ER) that will go to AFP and the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Units (CAFGU) scholars.
The AFPEBSO and AFPMBAI started their partnership in 2008. Since then, it has aided the education of dependents of soldiers, who were killed defending the country. AFPMBAI has been providing incidental cost support for books, transportation, meals, and projects, which comprise the bulk of educational expenses.
Both AFPEBS and AFPMBAI aspire to bring hope to orphans of combat casualties by giving them the opportunity to pursue their education, and by assisting them to graduate from college and gain employment in order to support their families.
Lt Col Menor extended his gratitude in behalf of the AFP Educational Benefit System to AFPMBAI for its contribution in helping soldiers’ dependents achieve a brighter future through educational assistance.
Col Romero on the other hand assured the AFPEBS that it will continue to support its commitment of “leaving no soldiers’ orphan behind.”
