The Armed Forces of the Philippines Educational Benefit System Office (AFPEBSO) conducted its annual Grantee Orientation and KAANIB Seminar to more than 60 new scholars at Manipula Hall, CGSC in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City last May 30, 3015.
The activity was aimed at making sure the new grantees are well-informed of their respective educational benefit program under the AFP Educational Benefit System (AFPEBS).
Students from elementary, high school and college from all over the National Capital Region attended the whole-day activity.
The first part of the activity was designed to inform the students about the AFP and AFPEBSO, their educational benefit programs, and their roles and responsibilities as grantees. This was highlighted by the Oath of Commitment taken by the participants which was administered by the Chief/General Manager of AFPEBSO, Lt Col Genaro C Menor PAF (GSC).
The new grantees in NCR join the AFPEBSO staff in saluting the sacrifices and hardship of our soldiers who continue to fight for peace and prosperity for our country.
For the second part of the activity, AFPEBSO staff together with the members of the “Kabataang Aktibo at Nagkakaisang Iskolar ng Bayani” (KAANIB) facilitated leadership workshops and social activities to build camaraderie and good relations among the new grantees. They were also given a lecture on maximizing the World Wide Web and on managing their future and developing their social responsibility.
Lt Col Menor who presided over the activity closed the orientation with a message for the scholars. He encouraged all grantees to do well in their studies and to always keep close contact and active coordination with the AFPEBSO.
After the program, the grantees were given certificates for their active participation.
The annual orientation/seminar is one of the AFPEBSO’s efforts to encourage camaraderie and cooperation among its grantees. This helps them build their confidence, leadership skills and potential towards achieving excellence during their education.
