CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) entered into a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with Informatics College Eastwood, Inc. to provide 10,000 scholarship slots to qualified members of the military, including civilian employees.
The AFP Chief of Staff, General Gregorio Pio P Catapang Jr. and President and CEO of Informatics, Mr. Leonardo A Riingen, signed the MOA during a simple ceremony held at the AFP Commissioned Officers Clubhouse on April 20.
The scholarship slots will cover 50% tuition fee discount and five scholarship slots covering 100% free tuition to qualified AFP officers, enlisted personnel and civilian employees, including contractual employees.
The scholarship program is also extended to their dependents in several Informatics Branches; Caloocan, Eastwood, Manila, Northgate, Imus, Diliman, Cainta, Cebu, Makati, SM Megamall, Las Piñas, Fairview, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Consolacion, and Tabaco.
The degree programs being offered are Bachelor of Science in Information Technology; Computer Science; Informatics Systems; Business Administration Major in Marketing; and Entrepreneurship. Informatics is also offering short-term programs such as Computer Systems Servicing; Computer Programming; Animation; and Visual Graphics.
A total of 6,256 slots were given to the Philippine Army; 1,584 for the Philippine Air Force; 1,218 for the Philippine Navy; 48 for the Technical and Administrative Service; and 893 for General Headquarters and other AFP units.
The application for the scholarship grants will be facilitated by the AFP Educational Benefit System Office (AFPEBSO). The office shall endorse qualified applicants to Informatics College System.
